Why is The Night Edit at a baby expo?
Because pregnancy and sleep are closely connected.
Pregnancy can make you feel noticeably warmer at night. Hormonal changes, a growing body and the general physical effort of carrying a baby can all make temperature regulation more difficult. Add a doona, a warm bedroom or a partner who sleeps like they are preparing for an Antarctic expedition, and a comfortable night can become surprisingly difficult.
That is where breathable sleepwear can help.
The Night Edit was created for women who sleep hot, experience night sweats or simply want sleepwear that feels soft, lightweight and barely there. Our bamboo fabric is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating and gentle against the skin.
Those qualities are especially useful during pregnancy, when your body is changing quickly and restrictive clothing can become uncomfortable.
We are not at the expo to tell you that one nightie will solve every sleep problem. We are there to offer a practical option: soft, relaxed sleepwear that moves with you and continues to be useful well beyond pregnancy.
Come feel the bamboo fabric for yourself
Online descriptions can only tell you so much.
At our stand, you can touch the fabric, see how it drapes and try to picture how it will feel at bedtime. Bamboo has a silky, smooth texture and a lightweight handle, without the stiffness or heavy feel that some sleepwear fabrics can have.
You can also chat with us about:
- Choosing between a nightie and a two-piece set
- Finding a relaxed fit during pregnancy
- How our sizing works
- Which styles offer the most coverage
- Selecting sleepwear for warm bedrooms and night sweats
- Wearing bamboo nightwear through pregnancy and postpartum
- The practical importance of pockets
I’ll be there with the team, and we would genuinely love to meet you. Come and say hello, ask questions, bring your sizing concerns and have a feel of the fabric.
There is no need to arrive with a perfectly prepared shopping list. This is a baby expo. You will probably leave with information about prams, feeding, bassinets, sleep products and approximately seventeen things you did not know existed.
We will be the stand talking about your sleep.
What should you look for in pregnancy sleepwear?
Your body does enough work at night. Your sleepwear should not add to it.
When choosing sleepwear during pregnancy, look for these practical features.
Choose breathable fibres for warmer nights
Breathability allows air to move through the fabric and helps reduce the feeling of heat and moisture sitting against your skin.
Our bamboo fabric is designed to feel cool, soft and lightweight. It is particularly suited to women looking for bamboo nightwear for hot sleepers, warmer climates and nights when temperature seems difficult to manage.
For more information about how bamboo compares with other materials, you can read our guide to why bamboo sleepwear is suited to hot sleepers.
Choose a relaxed silhouette
A growing bump needs room to move.
The Night Edit styles are intentionally relaxed through the body, with soft drape rather than a close, restrictive fit. The Nightie Dress with pockets has a flowy shape that skims the body without clinging, making it a simple choice when you want minimal fabric and maximum ease.
A relaxed fit can also feel more comfortable when getting in and out of bed, feeding or settling into a different sleeping position.
Choose fabric with gentle stretch
Our fabric is made from 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex. This gives the sleepwear a soft stretch and allows it to move with your body rather than hold a rigid shape.
That matters when your body is changing from week to week. It also makes the pieces more wearable after birth, when comfort and flexibility remain high priorities.
Choose sleepwear with useful pockets
Pockets are not a pregnancy-specific requirement, but once you have them, it is hard to return to pocketless sleepwear.
Our styles include practical side pockets for the small essentials you tend to carry from room to room: your phone, lip balm, tissues, a dummy or a snack that was meant to be eaten earlier.
The singlet and shorts set is a popular warm-weather option, with a relaxed singlet, soft shorts and pockets. It is a good choice for women who want a little more structure than a nightie while still keeping the fabric light.

Which style might suit you?
There is no single correct answer. The best style depends on how warm you feel, how much coverage you prefer and whether you like a one-piece or two-piece look.
The Nightie Dress
Choose the nightie if you prefer:
- A loose, flowy silhouette
- Minimal fabric around the legs
- Easy dressing
- A style that skims rather than clings
- Practical side pockets
The relaxed shape can be especially comfortable over a bump. It is also easy to wear during slow mornings, rest periods and those early postpartum days when getting dressed feels like a full administrative task.
The Singlet and Shorts Set
Choose the singlet and shorts set if you prefer:
- Separate pieces
- More coverage around the body
- A cooler option for warm nights
- Shorts that move easily
- A relaxed two-piece fit
The shorts have a soft waistband designed for comfort, and the set is available in calming colours including black, navy and sage.
The Long Sleeve Set
For cooler nights or women who prefer more coverage, our long sleeve set combines a relaxed top with long pants and pockets.
Bamboo remains lightweight and breathable, so the set does not need to feel heavy simply because it offers more coverage. It is a useful option for unpredictable weather, cooler bedrooms or layering during the months after birth.
You can view the full sleepwear collection before the expo or come and compare the styles in person.

Is bamboo nightwear useful after pregnancy?
Absolutely. This is not a one-season purchase.
Pregnancy is one stage of a much longer period of change. After birth, you may still experience temperature fluctuations, interrupted sleep and a strong preference for anything soft and uncomplicated.
A relaxed bamboo nightie or pyjama set can carry through:
- Pregnancy
- Hospital and recovery days
- Postpartum rest
- Warm nights with a newborn
- Breastfeeding and feeding breaks
- Slow mornings at home
- Everyday lounging long after your baby arrives
That is one of the reasons we focus on practical design. We want the pieces to work with your life, not only a single stage of it.
Our size guide and fit page explains how each style fits, including what to do if you are between sizes. If you are unsure, we can also talk through fit with you at the stand.
Plan your visit to MCEC
The PBC Baby Expo will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in South Wharf.
The expo’s getting there guide includes information about parking, public transport and venue access. Southern Cross is the closest train station, with tram routes 96, 109 and 12 travelling towards MCEC. Parking is available at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre car park, although checking current availability and rates before travelling is sensible.
The expo itself is a chance to see, touch and compare products in person. There will be prams, car seats, bassinets, carriers, feeding products, sleep products, clothing and plenty of expert information under one roof.
And somewhere among all the baby essentials, we will be there with soft sleepwear for the person doing the carrying, feeding, planning, organising and very possibly not sleeping.
Come and say hello
If you are visiting the PBC Baby Expo Melbourne this weekend, please come and find us.
Try the bamboo fabric. Ask about sizing. Compare the nightie with the shorts set. Tell us whether you sleep hot, whether your bump has made every waistband irritating or whether you simply want something soft to wear at the end of a long day.
We would love to meet you.
